Tahoe City Golf Course Irrigation Replacement Project

Project Overview

This project will replace Tahoe City Golf Course's aging irrigation system. The average lifespan of an irrigation system in the mountains is 30 years and this course hasn't had significant upgrades since 1976. TCPUD's maintenance efforts have helped the system last longer, but it is time for a new system.

The new system will be more water efficient, have improved turf coverage, and provide a better golf experience for customers.

We estimate the project will cost approximately $2.1 Million. The project is funded by TCPUD property tax revenue and golf course revenue. This project is not supported by water and sewer rates.

Project Status

Updated 2/12/25 - TCPUD plans to award a construction contract at our February 21 Board of Directors meeting. Construction will commence in Summer 2025.

Golf Course Operations

TCPUD will work to reduce impacts to the playing experience during the 2025 golf season. We currently expect that up to two holes will be closed at a time.
